Little Creatures
Inspired by Talking Heads and newborn children, DJ and producer Luke Solomon is doing what he vowed he would never do again – set up a record label. The label named ‘Little Creatures’ is a continuation of Luke’s musical manifesto that saw him set up the clubnight of the same name. Starting out at the now defunct AKA in London, Luke used the moniker to showcase his musical tastes through 8 hour DJ sets. These legendary sets encompassed everything from funk and soul to disco, house and techno revealing Luke’s stand against the ever increasing desire to pigeonhole dance music. Now, five years later, this concept is being played out with the emergence of this label.
Luke’s first release for the birth of this label is the fittingly titled ‘Ultrasound.’ This will be remixed by a few of Luke’s favourite artists, new and old. This will be followed by Luke’s remix of a track by the Scottish band Cruiser as well as a live tribal record featuring Nigerian singers and a mid tempo disco track. The intention: to take people on a journey through his left field taste in dance music with absolutely no compromise.
